Amarillo
Bone & Joint is the only regional office digital radiology
system in the region. Our system is called OfficePACS Power Digital
Imaging.
So, what does that mean for me as a patient?
Well, first of all you are assured by coming to Amarillo Bone & Joint
that are mission statement is realized by “….providing
economically responsible healthcare.”
But more important our Stryker's OfficePACS digital imaging
solution is a Patient Archive and Communication Solution that
reflects the way our orthopedic surgeons work, allowing for faster
adoption of digital technology in our Prompt Clinic and our main
surgical clinic. With the ability to communicate with our integrated
operating rooms and electronic medical records, OfficePACS improves
workflow and efficiency in our orthopedic clinic. Our surgeons
can view the radiology films stored in our office in the operating
room itself or really anywhere in the world for that matter!
Access Images Remotely
Our physicians can view your studies anywhere at anytime with
OfficePACS Express. We can view your films remotely by laptop
computer, in our homes and even on our hand-held phones.
Benefits of PACS
PACS replaces hard-copy based means of managing medical images,
such as film archives. It expands on the possibilities of such
conventional systems by providing capabilities of off-site
viewing and reporting (distance education, tele-diagnosis).
Additionally, PACS enables practitioners at various physical
locations to view the same information simultaneously, (teleradiology).
With the decreasing price of digital storage, PACS systems
provide a growing cost and space advantage over film archives.

Better Efficiency for X-Ray Technicians
•
30 second processing compared to 90 seconds
•
Drastically decrease retakes
This means as a patient you wait less and the time on that hard
X-Ray table is less time and discomfort. Most important we can
view all your previous films at one time for comparisons of your
healing.
What do I need to do for my X-Ray?
Today, taking X-Rays are easy. You do not have to un-robe or
wear special clothes. Just come as you are! Simple as that.
